Selling a numberplate on retention

Selling a numberplate whilst it's on retention is very simple indeed.

Firstly you need to ensure you are entitled to sell the registration number- you need to appear as the "purchaser" or "grantee" on the retention document.

To sell the numberplate you simply need to add the buyer as a "nominee" to the document- they can then transfer the numberplate to their own vehicle and then you have both exercised your rights under the cherished transfer scheme.
