Numberplate Grantee and Numberplate purchaser

The retention documents V750 and V778 have two parties listed on them- the nominee and the purchaser or grantee. The purchaser or grantee is the person who legally owns the right to the numberplate- only the grantee or purchaser can apply to have the numberplate transferred.

Once the grantee or nominee have transferred the numberplate- they are deemed to have exercised their rights under the cherished transfer scheme. If the numberplate is transferred to a vehicle registered to a nominee then the nominee becomes legally entitled to the numberplate.
