Nominee

The nominee appears on the retention document - both V750 and V778. The nominee can have the numberplate registered to a vehicle in their name- but only with the permission of the grantee or the purchaser.

Nominees can be added or changed by applying to the DVLA and paying the £25 fee (at time of writing)

Once the numberplate has been transferred to a vehicle registered to the nominee- the purchase or grantee have exercised their rights under the cherished transfer scheme and the numberplate is legally the property of the nominee.
